Ticket upgrades
Someone who already has a ticket can move up to a better one and pay only the difference. There is nothing to switch on — upgrades are available on every event that has more than one paid ticket type.
How a buyer upgrades
- They open their ticket — on the SHWDWN app, or on the website under My tickets.
- If a better tier is available, an Upgrade button appears on the ticket. If every higher tier is sold out, or the ticket is already the top tier, no button shows.
- They pick the tier they want and see the difference they'll pay.
- They pay the difference only — not the full price of the new ticket. Their old ticket is replaced and the QR code on it stops working.
What you need to do
Nothing, to make it work. But it only earns you anything if there is somewhere to upgrade to, so it's worth pricing your tiers with that in mind:
- Have a tier above your cheapest one. An event with a single ticket type can never take an upgrade.
- Keep the step sensible. A jump a buyer can talk themselves into on the night converts far better than one they have to think about.
- Don't sell out the top tier first. Once the better tiers are gone, nobody can trade up.
Where upgrades show up
- The money lands in your event's revenue like any other sale, listed separately in the sales breakdown as Upgrades.
- An upgrade keeps the original ticket's fighter attribution, so the fighter who sold the first ticket still gets credited for it.
- On check-in, only the upgraded ticket scans. The replaced one is void.
