Discount codes
Create discount codes to offer fans a reduced ticket price. Codes can be a percentage off or a fixed amount, with optional usage limits and expiry dates.
Creating a discount code
- Open your event from the promoter dashboard and go to Tickets.
- Tap Discount codes, then tap the + button.
- Enter a code name, choose percentage or fixed amount, and set the value.
- Optionally set a max uses limit.
- Tap Create.
How fans use discount codes
When a fan goes to buy a ticket, they'll see a Discount code field on the checkout page. They enter the code, tap Apply, and the price updates instantly. This works on both web and in the SHWDWN app.
Discount codes are limited to 1 ticket per purchase. If a fan wants multiple tickets, they can make separate purchases.
How pricing works with discounts
- The discount applies to the ticket price only — the service fee is calculated on the discounted price, with a minimum fee of £1.29.
- A 100% discount makes the ticket free — no payment is required and the fan gets their ticket instantly.
- Your revenue, payouts, and financial reports all reflect the discounted prices automatically.
Code statuses
- Active — the code is live and can be used by fans
- Disabled — you've turned the code off. It can be re-enabled at any time.
- Expired — the expiry date has passed
- Maxed Out — the code has reached its usage limit
Disabling a code
You can disable a code at any time from the Tickets tab. Disabled codes stop working immediately — fans will see an error if they try to use one. You can re-enable it later if needed.
Note: Discount codes are scoped to the event they were created on. They won't work on other events. Each code name must be unique within your promotion.
