Promoter-paid events

Some events on SHWDWN are run with auto-pay off, meaning SHWDWN doesn't hold or transfer your share of ticket sales. The promoter pays you directly, off-platform, in whatever way you've agreed with them. You'll see a banner on the bout detail screen if you're on an event like this, and a Promoter-paid tag on the bout in your bouts list.

What it means for you

  • SHWDWN doesn't hold your share. All ticket revenue (minus our platform fees) goes straight to the promoter at checkout.
  • The promoter pays you directly. Whatever payment method you've agreed with them — cash, bank transfer, off-platform — is on them.
  • Attribution still works. Your unique share link attributes ticket sales to you, and you can see those numbers in your dashboard. We just don't pass the money through.
  • No payout in your SHWDWN payouts page. That's expected — the payout flow doesn't run for these events.

Before you accept

  • Confirm the payment terms with the promoter directly — amount, method, timing.
  • Get the agreement in writing with them. SHWDWN isn't a party to the payment and can't mediate disputes about money that never went through the platform.
  • After accepting, your bout shows up in the fighter portal as normal, just with the Promoter-paid tag.

How your earnings show up

The sales page in your fighter portal shows ticket sales attributed to you across all events, including promoter-paid ones. Sales from auto-pay-off events are labelled so you can tell them apart from sales SHWDWN paid you out for directly. The total stays accurate — you still earned the money, it just came from the promoter rather than from us.

Common questions

Why don't all events use this?
The default is auto-pay on, which is simpler for everyone — SHWDWN holds your share until the promoter approves payout, and we transfer to your Stripe account automatically. Auto-pay off exists for events where the promoter has fighters who aren't on the platform (amateur cards, internal company events, charity bouts).
Can I still get my payout through SHWDWN on these events?
No. The platform doesn't hold any fighter share for these events, so there's nothing for us to pay out. Your payment comes from the promoter directly.
Is my attribution data still visible?
Yes. You can see your sales total, ticket count, and which fans bought through your link, exactly like a regular event. The only difference is the money flow.
The promoter hasn't paid me. What do I do?
Reach out to them directly first. SHWDWN can't release funds we never held, but if the issue persists, get in touch with us — we'll flag the promoter internally even though we can't recover the money on your behalf.

Good to know: The auto-pay setting is locked once the event is published, so a promoter can't switch a bout to promoter-paid after you've accepted. What you see on the bout detail when you accept is what you'll get.
