TALE OF THE TAPE
THE STORY
Started boxing at 12 in Bromley with my cousins, I wasn’t as good as my cousins but I enjoyed being outside my comfort zone and testing limits. Sadly after my first spar my parents didn’t see my potential and they stopped me from going to any more training. My enthusiasm for boxing didn’t stop despite the fact I was becoming big and lazy. At age 16 I weighed 99kg at 5”9 and I decided I wasn’t going to let myself reach 100kg. I reached out to my cousin about boxing again as a way to get fit and it lead to us doing a little tournament with friends and for a year we were training. After I got to a weight I was happy with I stopped but my cousin gave me a call with the opportunity to train and fight again and I took it as a sign to keep my love for the sport going.
